Our Featured Artists

ALEX ZABEL

WOOD TURNED BOWLS

“I really enjoy the process of releasing and refining the beauty found in a piece of rough wood. Each piece is unique and each piece has a story to tell. To fully appreciate that story you need to hold it in your hands, feel the curves and textures along with the visual aspects of the piece. Turning wood is like dancing – at times you get to lead and other times the wood leads you where it needs to go. It can be a surreal experience that’s hard to describe."

ROLF OLSON

PHOTOGRAPHY

“I have been a craftsman in wood and metal for 25 years, working as a boat builder and joiner, designing and building doors, cabinets, furniture and functional object in wood and metal. I have always enjoyed clean, simple, and elegant design. My photographs reflect this aesthetic.”

BARBI GOSSEN

Barbi has shown her work across the United States in jewelry, metals, and enameling exhibitions, including multiple times at Materials Hard and Soft and SNAG student exhibitions. KENDRA BILOTTO

ACRYLICS

"My work explores different ways to bring celebration & joy into everyday life. The use of bright colors draws upon my love for tropical cultures and places, while the use of simple and repetitive brushstrokes & splatters comes from my desire to evoke emotion and to create a visually inspiring experience for the viewer."

KRIS HACKL

STAMPED FABRIC

Door County-based artist Kris Hackl is a college interior design instructor and passionate block printer and surface designer specializing in creating unique patterns for home decor and everyday living. JOSIF WITTNIK

This event heightened his artistic practice and has been noted by neurologists on Mayo Clinic boards of discussion.

KIMBERLY ROSE

POTTERY

Based in Appleton, Wisconsin, Kimberly Rose has been an artist her entire life and began focusing on clay as her chosen medium in 2012. Drawing inspiration from nature, Kimberly uses elements of the sea, wildlife, and natural motion to create unique glazes and finishes on each of her pieces.

MARY SCHUSTER

ACRYLICS & CHARCOAL

“I am a painter whose goal is to capture the tranquil beauty in nature, one landscape or flower at a time. I use acrylic paint in multiple layers to create a smooth, realistic look on canvas paintings and charcoal pencil in my detailed drawings. I focus primarily on custom work for my clients; whether the inspiration is a vacation photo, a lake house, or water scene.”

EVERETT LEE

POTTERY

Everett Lee is a self-taught artist from the Navajo Indian reservation in Shiprock, New Mexico. He has always had a passion for art and is inspired by his culture, and the landscape he was surrounded by in his youth. Since moving to Wisconsin six years ago, he has tried to share that culture and landscape through his love for ceramics and painting with acrylics. There is a story and meaning behind every piece he creates. Some of the stories have been handed down through the generations.

NICOLE BRAATZ

PAINT ON METAL

Nicole Braatz has been working professionally for over 30 years in the commercial signage/vehicle lettering and custom motorcycle paint industry. This field gave her the inspiration to also interior decorate with a more edgy feel. Loving the paint and metal concept, she started creating wall art pieces out of substrates she had worked with throughout the years. Paint on metal associated with bold stand offs creates a unique wall art piece that has an industrial yet contemporary feel.
